Creating equitable access to bicycles for a thriving  Boulder community

Community Cycles

PROJECT TYPE: GRAPHIC & WEBSITE DESIGN

Community Cycles is more than just a bike shop. It is a non-profit advocacy organization that’s mission is simple: get more people on bikes! CC achieves this through access, education, and advocacy.

At Community Cycles, I had the opportunity to create graphic and web designs for several grant-funded advocacy campaigns such as Earn-a-Bike and Ride by Ebike programs. From creating social media graphics and physical flyers to co-designing a State recognized Ebike Resource website, my work has helped engage Boulder’s cycling community.

Walk & bike month

June is national walk and bike month and also Community Cycle’s busiest month! CC hosts events, workshops, and bike rides every week in June. To prepare, I co-designed flyers, website home pages, social media posts and banners, and even merch to get the word out!

Ride by Ebike

MARKETING DIRECTOR - SANDEE CIRIAN

Ride by Ebike is a grant-funded initiative that aims to increase Ebike access and use. We do this by offering maintenance workshops, spreading awareness on State issued Ebike vouchers, and running a summer Ebike program for Boulder County residents.

With an increased interest in Ebikes, Community Cycles developed a landing page for all questions regarding “which Ebike is right for me” and “what local Ebike shops accept my voucher?”.

I co-designed this Ebike resource page that was recognized by both Boulder County and Colorado state for its user-friendly design.

Programming graphics

For programs such as Earn-a-bike, clear, eye-catching graphics were crucial to ensuring people could digest the information, especially if English is not their first language.

When creating handouts or posters, I opted for photos or graphics paired with bold colors and fonts to ensure the information was not overlooked.

By the numbers is a annual infographic shared with Community Cycles staff, members, and sponsors to showcase the positive impact CC has on Boulder’s community. I revamped the old “by the numbers” with a contrasting color palette that speaks to CC’s design language and makes the numbers pop off the page.
