“Take” Bench
“Take” Bench brings stories and adventure inside. Made for climbers and adventures alike, this bench gives your retired climbing rope a new life.
How it started
After coming across this cute pink retired climbing rope at a thrift store, I began to wonder “how can I repurpose this rope”. As climbers, our ropes are special and remind us of the climbs, and adventures we’ve endured. After research how other designers are giving climbing ropes a new life, I decided I wanted to transform the rope into a furniture piece that would last a lifetime!

Sourcing a frame
The first step was sourcing a worn frame, stripping its frayed top, and adding nails where needed

Prepping rope & weaving
To prep my retired climbing rope I took ou the filler nylon string and flattened each rope segment. I then sewed the rope together and weaved it to the frame

Upholstery
The most fun part of this process was using the air-compressed nail gun to upholster the weaved climbing rope!
